Initial contract role which will transition to a permanent position after 12 months.

Rate: £450-550 per day (outside IR35)

A global conglomerate has an exciting new opportunity for a Cyber Security Intelligence & Communications Specialist to join their EMEA team. The role will initially be a 12 month contract with the intention of becoming permanent after this period.

Although this is not a technical role a good understanding of cyber security and infrastructure principles is required.

Role Overview

The Intelligence & Communications Specialist position is a new, mid-level, multi-discipline role working as part of the EMEA regional branch team to support and improve cyber security maturity within the EMEA region group companies.

The position is a hybrid working role comprising of at least 1 day per week in the offices near Slough.

This is a blended role, combining aspects of several established cyber security role types and is hands-off technical. It will consist of:

  • A threat intelligence aspect, limited to using open source, publicly available information. Strong investigative ability is a must.
  • Partly a traditional Cyber Security Awareness role, ability to communicate technical information with credibility to a target audience of IT and cyber security professionals required.
  • A media communications aspect, the person will need to be comfortable using Teams, O365 apps and SharePoint to communicate information to the EMEA security community as well as originating and hosting workshops, editing and publishing a newsletter and all aspects of running conferences, from organisation and logistics to delivery.
  • It also has an audit function in the On-site Risk Assessment responsibility.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Research and curate open-source Intelligence and share with regional information security stakeholders
  • Work with the EMEA Head of Cyber Security to develop and deliver a cyber security communications program
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the EMEA region corporate On-site Risk Assessment (ORA) program
  • Work with peers within the regional companies to develop an active EMEA cyber security community
  • Work with colleagues in data protection, privacy and government relations areas to cross share information with the EMEA cyber security community
  • Work with the EMEA SOC team to support threat detection engineering activities
  • Develop and maintain the information sharing platforms (Teams and SharePoint)
  • Act as a member of the EMEA incident response team, under the direction of the regional Head of Cyber Security, with responsibility for incident related research, incident tracking activities and communication
  • Work with the EMEA Head of Cyber Security to develop incident classification and reporting methods using ServiceNow as the central incident tracking and reporting tool
  • Work with the EMEA branch to identify and document processes to a level sufficient to support the implementation of automated incident response using the Splunk SOAR application
  • Participation in the EMEA information security daily status meetings
  • Work to develop an understanding of the global environment and the key teams

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a cyber security awareness role disseminating information to a diverse target audience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to produce and host workshops and conferences including delivery of technical information and administrative and logistic functions.
  • Ability to analyse information from diverse sources and build a strong understanding of a situation with a critical viewpoint allowing constructive evaluation and questioning of the information.
  • Be able to demonstrate technical communication abilities to people of different organisational levels and professional backgrounds.
  • Experience working with partner organisations and offshore teams.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and inter-personal skills.
  • A strong interest in cyber security and a willingness to keep skills and knowledge relevant.

Qualifications in cyber security, media communications or infrastructure technologies would be advantageous.
